Meals with Love

By Jill Dovale | Comments

Many thanks to all who came out to Humphry Slocombe to support our fundraiser for Project Open Hand! We raised more than $500, and $500 = a lot of meals for folks in need. I had so much fun hanging out with friends who stopped by and POH rockstars Hannah and Vanessa, though I did nearly OD on POH peanut butter samples (it's hard to stop once you start). Thanks again to Humphry Slocombe for donating all that FlufferNutter and for having such a ninja staff.

If you couldn't make it to the fundraiser, but want to support Project Open Hand's vision of providing meals with love for the critically ill, donate via POH's website. You can also find their crazy-good peanut butter at Whole Foods and other locations. Each tub ($4) provides a full meal for someone in need.

Is Customer Service Dead? Or Did We Just Forget to Demand it?

By Sara Deseran, 7x7

Knowledgeable and courteous don't have to be mutually exclusive. I was recently encouraged by an evening at Commonwealth, where the service completely hit the mark (and the servers even had tattoos). Too bad more aren't following suit.

I Left My (Chocolate) Heart in San Francisco

This is about as close as I can get to a Valentine-related article. I'm a fan of local chocolatier, TCHO. If this feature leaves you wanting more, check out TCHO's free, daily tours.
